Yes, I build them from scratch. Got tired of trying to find good sounding boxes like the Las Casabrillas and a few others. Everytime I would go to the Cigar shop they would be out and have little small ones left. Someone always beat me to them, but I found a way around that. Its a bit of extra work but well worth the effort. I make them from hardwood untreated pallets; most common useable hardwood is Poplar and occasionally some Redwood and then theres the stuff that no one knows what it is but it is beautiful. Sometimes butternut, cherry, basswood, ash, bubinga, birch which almost all of it is pretty cracked and useless except for details and accents and maybe a bridge or two if its hard enough. Most common pallets here are pine and treated oak in which I will not use on a guitar......ever, but you get lucky sometimes.
