I've used eye bolts on several 1 and 2 string builds. I soaked them in a bowl of lemon juice for several days to give them more of an aged look. Going to also try vinegar and sale and gun bluing.
Thanks. It tunes fairly easily, just a little tricky to fine tune and then tighten up. Seems to go flat if it sits a few days. That might be normal, I don't know. Machine heads are much easier to install and use. This was my first build, so I wanted it to be without any modern components. The only power tool I used was a hand drill to get the headstock holes right (that is after I tried and destroyed two other headstocks). Actually a drill is almost the only electric tool I have used on all my builds.
