Inside is a Shure condenser microphone element SHR-4100 5B, 1/4" jack, and 10K pot for volume control. Most people use a piezoelectric transducer but I found these mic elements at a surplus electronic store for a couple of dollars. I put these on all my CGB and they work great and have a really good sound. They also make great Harmonica pickups. You don't have to put a volume control on them but this box was left over from a previous project and had a pot in it already.
