whenever i'm building a big project, i make TONS of sketches and really work out my designs, then draw up a full size, perfecltly to scale, 1:1 blueprint with all my measurements on there. that way i can reference an actual image of the thing i'm building. its the best way i can find to do my build, and i love to draw the big instruments. they're very impressive sat in my living room :D
