  • I like that idea -- might have to test it out!
  • Yeah Scott, I made one from a pair of scissors that I broke in two and then ground down the blade to match the size/taper of the tuner. It worked pretty well 'till I got an actual reamer.

  • Thanks, Jim! Yes, I'm debating on either making are buying a 5th string reamer to make life easier.
  • Very nice! Yup, that pesky 5th string bump out has caused me problems in the past. Plus you need a taperd hole for the 5th string tuner if you're using actual banjo tuners. Good luck!

  • When more work goes in, more pride will come out when finished!

  • Thanks! A lot of these pictures are from a while ago, we've just been working on it gradually because of school, college applications, and other activities. We were able to get a lot done over Christmas break, though, and the only major thing we have left is to drill the holes in the peg head and the neck for the 5th string. I never thought that banjos would be so much harder than guitars! The neck itself took a long while because it had to be done mostly be hand with rasps and files :)

  • You bet! I am hoping she will take it for a spin at a meeting this Spring!
  • Glad to see you guys back at it, hope to see it when it's done.
