Dumpster Diver's Axe

This instrument was built at a cost of zero dollars. The box was an old Dutch Masters box my Uncle gave me. The resonator was an old coffee can. The box was reinforced with old pallet wood. The neck was from an rake. The tail piece was a broken cabinet hinge. The bridge is a window toggle from my uncle's house. The nut is a hose clamp from an old washing machine. The tuner is made from all thread, washers, and nuts from my great uncles home made paint shaker. The sound holes are lined with aluminum from soda cans. My wife would not let me destroy our broom for the wire, so the string came from one of my CBG. It needed restrung anyways. All of the nails were salvaged from an old discarded home made carpenter's tool box. It has a beautiful banjo like tome to it. Not to bad for a pile of trash.
