I'd highly recommend it! The gourds are really light weight but still pretty strong. Little bit of challenge to get the top attached securely but it can be done. I get lots of comments on this one. I also have a gourd ukulele that turned out pretty well too.

Nice clean build. I have Amish neighbors who grow gourds for purple martin houses. I'll have to beg for a couple next summer. There's a gal in Canada who uses gourds and stretches hide over the opening for the sound board.
