This is the very first 20 string solid body chameleon i made several years ago. From this, all my other instruments were born. I call this the Grand Chameleon. Wood bridge and nuts (all 4) and violin strings for the shortest scale, bass scale, and 2 sets of lead in different scales as well. and my first use of piano tuning pins as tuners for an instrument other than a piano.

  • this pic shows 16 of the 20 tuning pins on this Chameleon. From bottom to top: 4 bass strings, 1 set of 6 standard ga. lead guitar strings , 1 set of 6 light gauge lead guitar strings , and unseen are the 4 violin strings half way down the neck. The piano tuning pins are simple interference fit and are gripped by the wood itself and resist going out of tune for very long periods of time.
