  • Hi Keni. I really got interested in bigger stuff after the baritone. The steel rod in the box adds a bit of sustain. I am going to make another with chromatic fretting. The box is 13 x 11, a bit smaller than the baritone, but the bass response seems good. I resisted the urge to make an electric, and I am glad I didn't, because as an acoustic the volume is better, (deeper), than a commercially made Johnson acoustic bass I used as a reference for volume. I did stick a piezo on it just to try it. Not too good with round wound strings, (string noise), so I will probably remove it. Flat wounds for me are the best. Does a slide work best on round wounds? The big bass tuners are the greatest. For the double neck contest half of it will be one of these, and the bottom a resonator. What you think? I am thinking of two projects, a mandolin-guitar double, or a resonator-bass/baritone combo.
  • Very pretty, bet it sounds great too with that big box.
  • Looks great. Interesting to see you went with a Diatonic scale. Enjoy.
  • Nice job Richard!
  • Love it!
