I use rubber bands to lay out my holes and F holes too. Simple X-Y layout lines - no cost and easy to experiment with to get it just right. I use small blocks of wood to back up the soundboard top and press these in with the drill press and a block of wood on top. Finish with another back up block and tap with a hammer. Glue is unnecessary with this system - those things are very tight! Might crimp 'em just a little?
