On examination, I found that most of the play in the lever that controls the vertical movem, ent of the drill as it travels through it's stroke was down to this bolt......As it's shouldered, when tightened it leaves a gap between the plate and the main drill head clamp it threads into. A quick look through my spares produced a nylon washer just right for the job....just need the hole reaming out to size to fit the bolt...sorted, and no more play, more accuracy gained as well as loads more control.
The reason I used nylon is because the arm needs to be able to move once tightened and it's self-lubricating of course. This bolt is used to set the height of the drill head and is adjustable to suit different drilling situations depending on how much 'travel' is required for the drill bit.
