just a sketch for Dianne Woods regarding flexing neck. Dianne, you might use either a wood strip, as on the left in red, or a bit of "L" shaped aluminium stock, as on the right in blue. Where the gap for the box is, you might just cut a slot for the brace you'd be adding, especially if using wood. Otherwise you should add another shorter brace, say in the middle of the heel, and cut a slot for that one. Hope this makes sense. Of course, there have got to be many ways to fix the problem, this is just what came to mind for me. Let us know how it turns out!
