  • Wow! I would never have guessed that was formica! I thought it was some kind of exotic burl wood or something. :D I think one of the things I enjoy most about building homemade musical instruments is looking for different materials and parts that can be adapted to our projects. As I recall formica is available in a pretty wide range of cool colors and patterns too!
  • Thanks! I used some formica I had laying around for the top and back and fingerboard. Spent a lot of time bracing the formica to stiffen it up though. But it's super slick on the fingerboard, and it would be some nice stuff to use on a non-fretted fingerboard.
