Deconstructed AGP #86 - ''NBFT"

AGP #430 - “Old Lowe Brass Cone”3 String Fretless Resonator GuitarScale: 635mm/25 inchesStrings : .044NW/.030NW/.020NW/Tuned: G D gI recently deconstructed AGP #86, a Build I done back in Feb 2014,it was named “NBFT”, (aka “Nothing But F#’n Trouble”), can’t quite remember the exact problems I had with the Electrics at the time, but it was enough to earn its appropriate name, it was also modified a couple of times, ending with the Humbucker being hardwired to the Output Jack, also modified the Sound Board with Sound Hole Grommets, which ended up making it look like a piece of Shite. So the new AGP #430 Build was done using some of those deconstructed parts, such as the Old Lowe Brass Cone, the 7.8k Gold Humbucker and Output Jack, the Machine Heads and the Brass Threaded Rod Nut.The Box is recycled laminated offcuts of 12mmx30mm Cedar, the Neck is Cypress Pine, the Fretboard is Radiata Pine and the Bridge is Forest Red Gum, all given a coat of Oak Stain, and 2 Coats of “British Paints Acrylic Clear Gloss”

  • "Thanks Dave", was never happy with this build, but it took me 7 years to get around to doing something about it, more of a replacement than a cull, something that's not happening at my place at the moment, with two builds in progress on the bench.  :-D

  • Love to see you are “improving” a build. Culling the herd so to speak and seeing the old build anew. Love your result AGP!
  • "Thanks 'BQ' & 'UJ', while there was nothing really wrong with Sound of this Build, I personally didn't like the shape of the Box or the Headstock, rescued the 4mm Pine Ply Back, the Rose Patterned White Oak Box Sides and the 25" Fretted Neck, which will all no doubt be used in future builds.

    :-)

  • Kinda looks like an old lute?

  • The rebuild looked good, but maybe had too much sound hole area for best acoustic sound......
