Death Head2

Dulcimer of the Dead from behind. the three square pine dowels are rather hard to see after I added an oak half-round and started to rasp and sand...The back is a series of mahogany/birch laminate strips I cut from a hollow core door-unlike a standard back it is self-bracing and gives a decent 'bowl-back' architecture to the build...I got the idea from the Charango, originally made of Armadillo hide but now just carved to look like it. This is apurely acoustic build, but if I wanted to electrify it I would have left the final middle panel unglued and used either brass screws or magnets...something to consider next time I guess!
