Recently purchased this “$10 POS” Chinese Nylon Strung Classical Git with a damaged top from a local Junk Shop, original idea was to just use the Neck on a CBG Build, but decided to take the top off and have a rethink, then decided to strip/sand the blue paint off, and was pretty pleased with the look of the plain timber underneath, which is of course Solid Pine and Pine Plywood. Not sure which direction it’s heading at the moment, have had a reasonably good quality 9½” Cone, Cover Plate, Tailpiece & Sound Holes which have been sitting in a cupboard from when I first started my CBG Odyssey some 5 yrs ago, but don’t know whether it warrants putting around $100 (I think that’s abt what I paid) worth of Resonator gear on a $10 POS, also doubt if the Pine Neck would take the tension of a set 6 Nickel or Bronze Wound Strings, probably remain in limbo til I come up with some hair brained idea !!PS: no smart ass comments about the topless photographer’s reflection in the Blue Git shots, it was very hot and very humid on the day :-D

Thanks Vinnie, I've never seen a Nylon String Reso either!, "Til Now", just found a heap of "Del Vecchio" nylon strung resonator clips on Utube, which includes one by Chet Atkins and even one played with a slide!!, a link to the slide one is below.
"Thanks" for putting the idea into my head, #313 has been sitting under the bench waiting for some sort of different build to enter my head, and now I have it: Cheers :-)
Looks like cool project.Yeah justifyin putting in that much $ is a conundrum,But even if it doesn't work ,Youll prob learn sumpin, which is always awesome. On the other hand you got nuttin into it,What do you have to lose...good luck ,broski.
"Thanks" for the kind comments James O, I'm more of a fan of the Natural Wood Grain look rather paint, and as per the Bone's comments, I still have a another "Blue Build" of the same type of Git, the original idea was a Pine Top, but Korrigan has got me seriously thinking about Plexiglass with some type of interior decoration's :-D
"Thanks Maddog", the grain actually looks a bit better than the pics reveal, so far has been sanded / stripped with 80 grit, it will be sanded a little more with finer grit, and given a clear coat of Oil or Lacquer :-)
"Thanks Don", like your build, I'm pretty sure this ones headed the same way, light gauge 3 string open tuning, probably with a Mag Pup, and some neck through bracing :-)
"Good Idea Dennis", they do look great as a shelf, I'm sure that plenty more cheap gits will show up in my regular search of Recycled Junk Shops, and will probably do a Shelf Type Build at some time :-)
I have. Purple Aston my kids got me 13 fathers days back I still play it. But now I’m seeing in in different light by the way nice outcome on this reworked pos buddy .

"Yup Pick", your right as always!, the half stripped git does look better than the half stripped photographer LOL :-D
