They are very intelligent. When they were old enough we set them free. They looked at us as their family and stayed with us for over 10 years.I hand fed and interacted with them daily. They were very protective of us and our other four legged family members, watching over our property and running off any intruders. When our youngest son would be out in the yard or the woods they would always be with him, they would wait for him to get off the school bus and ride home on his shoulders.I could go on and on about their intelligence, family values, funny stories and the knowledge and respect I have gained from this experience. They would always come around when I was playing guitar and learned to mimic some of the sounds and would sometimes repeat them when they would see me.Money can't buy what those birds gave to us.
Hi Darryl..they were rescued from their nest atop a 120 foot pine tree that was going to be cut down the next day in a clear cut logging tract. They were very young, eyes barely open. They could only detect light shadow.Raising these 2 crows was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had. They became very loved family members and I learned so much from them.
