As seen at Boxstock. A 3-stringer built from a Cohiba Maduros box and fitted with one of Elmar Zeilhofer's "Flatpup" pickups plus an internal piezo. Sunburst finish achieved through several layers of black wood stain with sanding in between, followed by much messing around with shellac (aka french polish).

I haven't had a chance yet to fully explore what it will do. Only got to try it for the first time through a proper amp at Boxstock on Saturday. Sounded great through a Microcube. I like the clean sound particularly.
One strange thing I've noticed is that with my little cigar box amps (with LM386 chips) the piezo pickup is louder than the magnetic one, but on a "proper" amp (eg. Microcube, Vox and others) the magnetic pickup is louder.
