  • Charlie, thanks for your response and the information was very helpful. I have about a dozen older sets of strings and just wondering what I can do with all the leftovers from 3 & 4 string projects I'll probably end up making. I have a 2-string and a 3-string neck currently glued up. The 3-string has a scarf cut and that's the first time I've tried that. I'm going to cut fret slots and try using finishing nails for frets on the 2-string just to see how well it works. Again, thanks for being there, this site is a wonderful resourse.

  • Hi Larry, thanks for looking. It was a 3rd and 4th string ,035 and 042 tuned G d. I  have not done that much with 2 strings, mostly 1 ,3 and 4 string. That what great about cbg's ,everytime you make one its like Christmas morning you dont know what it is going to sound like or work till you string it up! ha ha!!  Hope I was a little help.

  • What strings did you use? I am working on my first 2-string and I have extra E strings of both sizes and I'm thinking of using them and tuning like they would be on a 12-string, both at E but the smaller at an octave higher. Any ideas?
