Actually guys I am lucky to have a ShopBot CNC router that I use. I traced a stencil template my wife bought and scanned it into my computer and manipulated it until it looked like I wanted then cut it into the box with a .0313" end mill bit.
You can also do that kind of work freehand with a Dremel or a RotoZip spiral saw blade tip, if you have patience and a steady hand. I did some similar to that on a replica cathedral radio I built as a set prop for our Christmas production of It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play last year. Gorgeous craftsmanship, Pete!
Yep Kid best way to do a F-hole is to remove the lid , draw the f-hole and " drill a small hole in the pattern " and insert the " Scroll saw blade " lock it up and cut it out !!! Maybe I need to start a group to teach some the different types of power tools!! I don`t need to google it I already know them...lol.

No what I`m referring to is a Scroll Saw ! Like my 18" Delta, you want do that fine work with a router
If it wasnt the bottom of the box that doesnt come off. I still think its a router.
