About those lid supports - The box was the kind without any hinges or clasps, the kind that stays closed with the nail and nothing more. After taking the paper off, the lid is no longer connected. So I had to come up with some way to make a hinge and to keep it shut properly. Originally I thought I'd use clasps from other boxes (I was happy to finally be able to use them), but the wood was too thin for that.
I drilled 4 small holes and fit the strings through there. It's great because it also holds the lid up when it's open, to take stress off of my hinges.
The hinges are 4 strips of leather. I used an exacto knife to cut out slots so they lie flush. As with most of my projects, I got lucky and it worked.

NIce one. Dang it, you beat me to it! I was gonna have the first CB harp case in here but it's not done yet. Dig the lid supports!
Great idea
