I bought a piezo buzzer and a couple of 1/4" jacks from Radio Hack. While trying to solder everything together I seem to have killed that piezo. I'm a newbie at soldering and I guess I don't have the "touch" for something as delicate as the ceramic piezo element. I bought a tuner pickup from a guitar repair shop instead.

Hi Michael, I must confess I have serious problems understanding the electrics side of builds myself. I have used a pre-wired single coil pick up with great success which has spurred me on to trying to put a single coil/volume/tone/input jack together myself. The first attempt I melted the plastic on the coil, but at first if you do not succeed?
