  Tim: It's a 34" scale, and the strings are a set of regular bass strings from my local music store, I cannot remember the brand, but they were expensive($35) so they must be good, roght? It was a hoot to build and even more fun to bang around on. One note, I used 3/4" oak (added strength without a truss rod) for the neck with 1/4 " poplar for the fretboard, and I see no distortion in the full length of the neck. Jess

  Hey Jess! What strings did you use for this bass? Workin on my first bass and have no idea what to use...Also whats the scale of that bad boy?
