Another CBG For Service Members build. The crimson box and bloodwood binding on the fretboard just scream “’Bama- Crimson Tide!”. The black and gold filigree trim on a Brick House cigar box hollers New Orleans and matches the black and gold Fleur de Lis, something no Saints fan can miss. Paua abalone fret markers? The trained eye sees a vintage Harley parked over a puddle (I’m partial to old Triumphs myself, so I know about oil leaks;) but in case that’s too subtle the H-D carved into the headstock satisfies. The neck is a lamination of mahogany and aspen, something I hadn’t done before, but wanted to try. More strength and it looks great! The fretboard is nice piece of cherry with a 24-3/4” scale length. The neck is fully tapered and rounded for easy playing. Brass side dots, chrome (ala Harley) sealed tuners, bone nut and bridge complete the CBG. Signature Huntz Meyer 6061-T5 aluminum neck plate and external tailpiece. I strung it up with 44-34-26 strings and tuned it G-D-G. The Truoil finish on is as robust as it is beautiful.
