My first four string bass, it turned out rather nicely. With a 30" scale length, most builders would use a truss rod. I opted for laminated neck of SpectraPly in Royal Camo. Not only is it strong, it is strikingly beautiful. As on all Huntz Meyer CBGs, the neck is fully tapered and rounded.More at:http://www.huntznsam.com/cbg_111253.htmlNote to builders considering Spectraply: It doesn't mention it on their site, but a 10"x35" panel will yield roughly 8" by 33" due the way the panel is laminated, something to consider when counting your chickens.
