  • I hadn't heard of the Woodcraft in Springfield, good to know.  You should also check out Dunlap Woodcrafts just south of Dulles Airport.  They have some really nice and unusual pieces.
  • I've got a Woodcraft near me in Rockville but haven't had it over yet. I'm itching to get my hands on a nice piece of 1/4" rosewood to restore a tenor banjo from the '20s or '30s I picked recently. I'm reluctant to buy online...I actually want to see it and hold it first!
  • Thanks!  I agree another local meet up is a great idea. I picked up this piece at Woodcraft in springfield - they have some reasonably priced 1/4" blanks.  I have a couple big pieces of walnut that have been standing in the shop a couple years, but I haven't tackled the chore of breaking them down yet. Maybe when it warms up a little more and I can setup outside again...
  • Hey Jon, We've got to get together again. Your work is really improving! That's a beautiful piece of cherry. Did you rip it yourself?
