Build #2

My second build. 3 string slider made from a cedar cigar box I had given to me recently. Neck is 2 pieces of Oak laminated, Mahogany face and back of head, Purple Heart nut and bridge. Single mag pup (a freebee) no volume or tone controls (to keep it clean). Hinge tailpiece (also ground for strings) brass screen for sound hole. The only pieces I had to buy were the machine heads and oak pieces. Everything else is scrounge (including the strings), my total cost of the build is 9 bucks. It has a nice deep banjo sound with horn undertones...very cool amped up too. Might burn in frets? We'll see. I don't like the clip that holds the scrounged 1/4 in jack socket in place so as soon as I find a nut for it I will change it, the threads are there.

  • Thanks Werner....I am loving it already, it sounds better by the hour as it tightens up and I tweak it a little more.
  • Deep banjo & Horn Undertones, that'll be a great sound. Enjoy your build !
