It's subjective. Some materials make pretty decent cigar box guitar strings. Others dont even make the grade. Another option comes to mind: weed whacker cord. Possibly the 1/16 to 1/8 diameter cords are adequate. Some weed whacker cords can serve admirably as ukelele strings.
Ha, thanks Doug, nice look, great sound. Had the neck lying around from a failed 3 stringer so just used one of the holes for the tuner. Had the box for a long time, finally came up w. the build. -Glenn
