I think this might be your problem if the strings are sinking into the wood. Do you have any Meccano (Erector Set) or similar - or a hinge or even the ferrules from the tuning pegs as you haven't used them on the headstock (I don't use them either) - any of those options will help I suspect. I always leave them a couple of days to settle anyway. Otherwise looking good and you neatly solved the problem of fixed tuners with the strat style headstock. Well done Ken
