Boas build

My newest build is almost done. Needs burned in fret markers, nut and strings yet. I like the old radio look of the body. Might do a Piezo too, if I do I'll add two old Bakelite Knobs for volume and tone. I didn't want to cut into the original label so I made the bridge span the saddle slightly above the top of the guitar. The box is quite old, the neck is two layers of Cherrywood with a Mahogany head. The saddle is Cherrywood, the bridge is Red Oak and coat hanger wire.

  • I haven't used a tone or volume control with any builds so far, just a straight through connection to the jack. I'll do some more research on it and if it won't work I'll still add the knobs but only have one function as a volume. The other will be a dummy.

  • Hi there. It looks really nice. I noticed that you said about using tone and volume controls with a piezo. Have you done this before, because I had heard that the tone control really doesn't do anything with a piezo. Have you tried it previously and found it to work?
  • That's a beauty! Especially like the way you arranged the cut outs in the body to echo the head stock style - very cool build!
  • WOW....I was just thinking, this is my 9th build and I've only been doing this a year... HOLY SHIT!!! I can't wait for this next year to see what comes to life...WOOHOO!!!
