  • Thank you, Mark!  Yeah the shellac does a fine job of filling the wood pores, much better than multiple layers of lacquer, IMHO.  This was the first time I used the satin Polycrylic over it, and I really like the way it turned out.

  • Excellent build, and I love the finish! Just my opinion, but I think shellac is one of the best and probably one of the most underused finishes out there. I have given several of my projects at least a spit coat of orange shellac before applying the final finish to give the color a warmer tone. It really works well.
