It is tuned E-A-D, same as top three strings on a standard electric bass guitar. The neck has fret positions marked but no raised frets. The position markers are done with 1/16" black plastic inlaid into a saw kerf 1/8" deep then sanded flush.

Thanks Mark. Go for it! They really sound smooth, like an upright bass. Not hard to make but a little harder to play well. Love that bas thump and the easy gliding up/down the neck. Wish I could play a little better. My son can really play it good though.
