It's amazing how much the sound improved with the lid screwed down tight. I killed a lot of hum by grounding the tailpiece. I'm using C B Gitty's 27mm piezos now. I think they might sound better than 20mm. Covering a larger area means you can just glue it dead center and know you're going to pick up plenty of low string. I think the sound is better balanced with them. On a wood top box like this, I glue the piezo on the lid and cover with a scalloped piece of rosewood. On a pressboard lid I sandwich it between two pieces of rosewood. You lose a bit of level that way but get much better tone in my opinion.
