Rub down parts with wire wool...to get ant varnish off ...Im waiting for some gold-ish machine heads...want to see wht this stuff does to them...dont get tit on working parts unless you have stripped them down and maek sure theres no corrosion when you re assemble...only leave it in for 30 seconds or a minute or 2....make sure metal has no oil or grease on
US. But that is a good tip. I am buil,ding these real cool guitars with a lot of patina right now, but then I put tuners and frets on and they don't look the part... Thanks for the tip!
Where are you Seth...US or UK...I get mine in the UK from a shop in Ludlow up the road from me...it blackens brass copper..you dilute some in water and dunk your bits in!!...you take them out when they go the shade you want...rinse and dry...its a mild acid so wear rubber gloves and dont get it on anything that belongs to your wife or mother!!!!...Ive found it on US ebay....heres the link
