Meet Bertha the 3-string short-scale bass. 25.5" scale, 24 frets, the body is a birtch Bo Diddley box from MGB Guitars, neck and fretboard are oak.The control plates are scraps produced by a Detroit metal stamping machine that makes parts for Ford. The Cruiser emblem is from an Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser wagon. I can just imagine being parked at the beach, late 1960's, sitting on the tailgate and playing The Ventures tune Pipeline on this bass. :)The pickup is a 4k Mini Box Bucker. The two switches are for tone capacitor selection, one is.033µF, the other .068µF, combined they act as a .1 µF cap and both off tone control is bypassed.

The knobs are from MGB and are much better than my attempt to make them from scratch, they have set screws too so won't fall off. And at $4 for 3 and free shipping they're a great deal.
