  • So, put few layers of the new, nice smelling oil, rubbed it off, because it's synthetic component just didn't want to cure, did the finish again, this time with the ol' stinky linseed oil.
It's a great player, in the parlor league. Laminated poplar is *definitely* not your wood if you're after *the* big sound.
Recently played with some friends, wasn't the loudest in the pack. So next time (let's call it 'a prototype') I'll take some solid hard wood.
Tried to record something. Out of 30 (thirty!) tries - nothing one could use on the internet... I need probably some kind of candid camera...

  • Good to see photos of the build at different stages. Not a builder maself,  so really appreciate time you guys put in etc :)

  • Hi, Mr Seman, I am not a " builder" maself, so can only admire you guys with the  patience and gift/craft :). Really good builds you got  elsewhere, too (had a wee look).  GOOD STUFF, ma man  ;)

  • Thank you, Jamie.
It's a bit on the longish side of "wee" - 17.71" scale makes it actually a "tenor uke in disguise"...

  •  Lovely build. A wee beauty! :)

  • still have to correct few minor errors in my woodworking. depending on the results it'll be either wood putty and clear poly or just the tru-oil.

  • Very nice!  What are the plans for the finish?

  • So cool, great job!

  • What Daniel said. It sounds great!

  • I checked out its audio sample.  I really like how it sounds.
