  • Good luck Davey, I hope ya find some good ones man!!!

  • When I find em here cost 10 franks each I am off to the flea market on Sunday always have my eyes open ;-)

  • I have about 250 plates layin' around here and there so I'm good for a while I think. I'm always buying old and intersting plates, we have quite a few around here so they come up at auctions/flea markets all the time. I just bought 2 old Iowa license plates at the Walnut flea market, one is a 1914 & the other is a 1915. They're in pretty good shape for being 99 years old, doing a rustique build with them. That's my new word in the nieghborhood today.

Everyone say it with me............    "Rustique"       :-)

  • Thanks I have a 2 more plates you dont find em here to often and that looks fine thanks for the advice ;-)

  • Help yourself Davey, I use a 3/8" rabbit bit in my router to make the inset and set it about 1/8" deep and run it around the inside. I do the same for the back of the box but set it to cut 1/4" deep for my 1/4" plywood back.

  • Makes the finish so much nicer. I will borrow that idea if you don't mind;-)
  • Thanks S.D.!

Thanks Davey! It took a LOT of grinding and test fitting but I finally got a snug fit in the recess of the wood.

  • oh like how did the box man ;-)

  • You are building some killer stuff, Maddog!

  • Thanks Jason!
