I hate building necks...well thats a lie, I love making anything from scratch, but I get obsessive with the shaping and it takes soooo long. I tried to think of a way to do a neck that was...1. not a square block, needed to to be round and comfortable2. was still fret-able3. easy to attack to a CBSo this is what I came up with. Im sure it's been done before but anyway.one half of these have .75" dowels the rest have 1" dowels. I think the 1" may be more comfortable even with the extra space on the sides of the fretboard.The fretboard is 1.5"

Yeah, I'm with you Darwin...I actually started working on something like this last week but didn't get very far. I laid a fingerboard on these two wooden dowels I have and said "you know, that may work." Then I called it a day. Nice illustration by the way.
