After finishing the last 2 Builds which were Tin Can Type Builds, I dug out 4 previous similar builds, which had been gathering Dust, Rust, Cobwebs, and Gecko Shit (some call it Patina) in one of my storage sheds, the original idea was to give them a bit of a clean and some maintenance, to stop any further deterioration, but as always, things change as the work progresses.AGP #83 “Bundy Rum 1” was first on the list, and as you can see by the Pics, the One Gallon Tin Keg was cut in half and a Timber bottom added, as it was a little uncomfortable to hold when playing, of course the other half of the cut off tin, was then made into a new build, AGP #470, which will be posted tomorrow.AGP #83 – “Bundy Rum 1” – 3 String Fretless Kegjo GuitarScale: 25 inchesStrings: .046NW .028NW .020NWTuned G D gOriginal Build: Full One Gallon Tin Keg, 7.8k P90 Type Soap Bar Pickup, Black Pearloid Buttoned Machine Heads, Poplar Neck with Maple Stain & Restoring Wax.Modified Build: Half a One Gallon Tin Keg, sprayed with Clear Gloss Enamel, a 7.8k P90 Type Soap Bar Pickup is wired through a Tone Pot to the Output Jack, Chrome Machine Heads, Poplar Neck with Cedar Stain & Clear Gloss Estapol. "Thanks BQ", my youngest son is the one for buying and emptying the 3 one gallon kegs of Rum & Cola, I've used in my builds, the only thing I usually add to Bundy Rum is more Bundy Rum!.
2 of the Kegs were cut in half to make 4 separate Git Builds, and one whole can was made into an AMP.
A 1 litre bottle of Bundaberg Underproof Rum, which is what most Aussies drink with Coke, cost about $53AUD, but speciality Rums can cost many thousands of dollars, I personally have a bottle of Bundaberg Solera Rum, which cost me around $178 for a 700ml Bottle, and only drag out on special occasions.
Just had a look on Ebay to see what the empty Bundy Rum Kegs were fetching these days, and couldn't find any, :-D
That’s kool, is Bundy rum expensive over there? It sure is over here in Cali? Their flavored drinks are big here in the states! I hardly ever come by those limited edition tins anymore, luck was in your side :D
