AGP #469 – “Dollymadass”3 String Fretless Baritone Tin Can Resonator GuitarScale: 27 inchesStrings: .030NW .020PS .015PSTuned: C G cThe 12” x 9” x 4” Box is 6mm Mixed Hardwood Marine Ply, coated with a Maple Stain, and as per one of the Pics, the construction was based on one of C.B.Gitty’s Kit Designs, hope they don’t mind me nicking the idea. The 6” x 4½” Tin Can Resonator originally contained Dolmades in the form of Stuffed Vine Leaves, something I definitely don’t eat, and it took quite a few washes to get the smell out of it.The Neck is recycled Merbau, sourced from a road side throw away table, a 7.8k Humbucker is wired through Vol and Tone Pots to the Output Jack. Both the Neck and the Box were given 2 Coats of Acrylic Clear Gloss. :-)

  • Thanks for the info AGP! And cool picture of the Tinnyjo line up. I have been working on building CBGs that are louder unplugged, so I am always curious. I do like plugging in, but when we have a group of CBG plays together everyone with an amp would be a disaster!!!

  • "Thanks Doug", The Unplugged Acoustic Quality on this Build is unfortunately "Pretty Poor", not very loud and as expected a bit "Tinny"

As I previously stated in a reply to Uncle Johns Comment, I have always been a bit of a "Tin Can Fan", these last 2 Builds have now prompted me to dig out some earlier Tinnyjo Builds, done when they were all the rage on CBN a few years back, as the Pic shows they have been aging nicely in one of my storage sheds, gathering Cobwebs, Dust, Rust, Gecko Shit, and heaven knows what else, they will all be cleaned up, to some extent, probably retaining some of that so called "Patina".  ;-D

  • The operative words are “based on” aka “inspired by”. Way to nick those ideas mate! Just curious, how is the volume unplugged AGP?
