A diy stomp box in progress

The jack is up on the end with this vent hole/sound hole. The speaker will be attached to the inside lid of this box just a little bit below the sound hole toward the lower end.I had another one being made, but I got too overly rambunctious and broke the side wood when I was using a chisel to cut into the wood. The jack threaded part was not as long as the wood, so I had to cut out some. This cigar box wood is a bit weak when you muscle it about like I did. That box works, but the split wood shows on it and it may be too weak to use for my intended purpose. No worry, as that box was free and I can still cut it up and use the wood from it for other projects.I got the speaker for this box at a thrift store for less than $3 bucks for the pair, so this one is my second attempt at making a stomp box. The box I ruined did have a good bass sound to it before I took it all apart. I am hoping this one will have the same. This is just an experiment with the sound hole added. I figure there is a bit of pressure inside the bnox each time it is hit with someone's foot, so having this hole added should relieve some of that. May or may not work, but no problems so far.I just have to connect up the wiring and secure the speaker inside the box to complete. Looking forward to testing it out when complete. I have some headphone speakers that I plan to use on one, too. In watching some YouTube videos, I see some folk use them, as well. It is always fun in playing with the DIY stuff to see what works and what does not.
