Well either that or the bottom one wants to be smaller...
Either the top or the bottom needs to be able to fit thru a hole you cut for it..
And generally the mounting screws will fit to whichever is larger of the bobbin top or bottom, to fit the mounting screws to the smaller of the two presents a few small problems. Consider the difference between teds Stonehenge and downunder products ;)
