  • PS:  I bought 30 feet more of these today.   Broke the bank.

  • LOL guys.  Give you an inch and you take a mile.

  • John,

So far all my endeavors have been non profit so everything goes.
However I refuse to part out a yard stick for those cheap skates!

  • Good rule of thumb, Jim.

Stephen,  you better get a yard sale permit or there will be trouble afoot.

  • I was thinking a possible fund raising event, call it the YARD sale!

  • Probably not startling revelation to most CBN-ers, but vaguely germane to a coupla’ posts below…

Save yourself from occasional grief by making sure your wood has acclimated to the temps, humidity, etc., in your shop before you get too far along measuring and cutting into your project. I think most pro woodworkers recommend at least a week to two weeks. Plus, of course, ensure both sides of wood get an equal amount of air so that one side doesn’t dry out faster than the other.

  • Wes, you are inching toward trouble.

Are you calling me CHEAP, Stephen?   I am gonna save up and get more.  One to whack Wes with.

  • You only got three of them there Uncle John!

  • Wes, that comment doesn't measure up to standards.

  • Jim, I looked at that page!  :)  I am still manly enough to use emoticons.   :)   Screw em if they can't take a joke,  :(

Valid point on the very soft wood in the Home Depot yard sticks as for use as finger boards.  I think they are fine for fretless - not so confident for fretted.   I will probably use one on a CBG and - in the cheap ass tradition, I think I will paint up some personalized gift yard sticks and give them to friends and family.
