Tried my hand at one with a mag pup. It's an old DiMarzio that I got in a box of goodies from the local guitar shop. Poplar neck with walnut fretboard, piezo under the bridge, Telecaster switch and pots. And damn if in spite of my crappy wiring it works! Action is a bit on the low side, not that good for slide but part of that may be the light gauge strings.
