Their no way equal to a Shure !! i have some shure mic`s. But those elements sound great they have a good size magnet in them. I tried the first one i made through my 30 watt amp and it was nice, then i added effects, now that was fun!!! Their really nice to hold and they look killer!!! I looked on ebay before i even tried to make one, those shure bullet mic`s are nice and expensive, just the elements are expensive. I sent the spectraply one out to Az. it will be used on stage wed. nite by a player. Then i`ll have a good demo vid.

How do those compare to a vintage Shure controlled Magnetic or Reluctance element? Or are the crystals?
