3D Printed Cigar Box Guitar

The only wood on this CBG is the cigar box! The 2-piece neck has a dovetail joint and a 12” carbon fiber rod inside and is a near clone of my normal 2X4 derived necks. The wings on this one are inspired by the late Ted Crocker, but I reversed them! The upper one is an arm rest and the lower one keeps the guitar from sliding off my leg.

  • Makes sense Doug, and I do think teaching is not only fun but in the end needed if done with patience, grace and simple as possible to help newbies get involved. Again, kudos, love it! -Glenn

  • On the first CBG class I did I taped the reference letters on the sides of the necks I brought to the class. I originally saw them as temporary learning aids (like training wheels on a bike); classic 6-string guitar player mindset! When Marilyn (80 something) and Margaret (90 something) showed up at the library after taking my class and wanted to purchase guitars they made a point that they expected the letters on the neck too!!! Of course the answer was yes and I wood burned them on all the guitars from that point on. You are right Glenn; they are good for teaching and playing! The musical version of paint by numbers...
