We had a chance to hang out with Christian rock group Casting Crowns when they came through this weekend. BBKing (Bible Box build) will be proudly displayed in Juan and Melodee DeVevo's music room in their new home (right next to their Grammy) and Josh Mix will be the official caretaker of the recently dedicated "Ukulele Ray", their "Toy for the Tourbus" and our memorial to Ukulele Ray Masters.

@kirk They were absolutely wonderful. The Bible Box was a special build for me, and I was talking with Juan through email about it. They set aside tickets and passes for my wife and I to be at the show for our 10 year wedding anniversary next week. Then Ray passed away and it just seemed like the thing to do, so we renamed/dedicated the build to Ukulele Ray with the intentions of sending him out into the world on a bigger mission. The guys in the band LOVED the ukes. They were actually giddy... like a couple of kids on Christmas morning. It was really cool to see, and Josh quickly claimed Ray! He picked it up and just started wailing on it and declared "I LOVE THIS!" So finally I got to see smoke coming from the fret board of my build. The opening act "I am They" were also intrigued by them, and I think they will be contacting us for a commissioned build for them! It was a great day, an amazing concert, and a fitting farewell for my friend and Brother Ukulele Ray!
