Yep - I'm trussing my bass - I left a slot by using a narrower piece for the middle of a 3-board glue-up. My rod is round, I really should have gone for the same square one you have. Mine won't bow - but yours wont twist, either. I'm hoping my laminate of 3 grains and a SUPER FAT rosewood fretboard (1/4 inch, before dressing the face) will prevent twists.
