3 String Bourbon Build (biscuit, not whiskey!)

The Bourbon was introduced in 1910 (originally under the name Creola) by the Bermondsey biscuit company Peek Freans, of London, originator of the Garibaldi biscuit.I loved the look of this giant Bourbon tin and thought it would be fun to make into a guitar...didn't expect it to sound so good!!These are still available from M&S for about a fiver. They are selling on eBay for much more...and with no biscuits in??!!My husband Dave spotted them. He also got a Custard Cream one which he is planning to use to make his first guitar when he can find the time. They'd be great to play together : -)

  • I think as it was from M&S and not eBay it should be full of biscuits!?...though that'll make it heavier and make postage a lot more. Look forward to seeing what you do with it : -)

  • Ordered my tin from M&S.....just wondering do they come full of biscuits?

I know I don't expect much (LOL), but pretty expensive when you add the shipping costs to Australia!

  • thanks Carlton, and Mark...it has one of Gitty's rod piezos inside the tin, right under the bridge. Plugged into a Roland RC30 amp.

  • Sounds great - definitely a lot of potential in tins if you can find the right ones. Does it have a pickup or was that video acoustic?

  • haaaa.love it very well done .
