yes to all the above... the tuners were recessed because I left the head at a full 3/4", i didn't remove any of the stock in hopes of maintaining its strength and integrity. the nut is oak also. the fret board is 1/4" birch ply ( a material i had on hand) and it acts as a reverse at the body too so that i didn't have to remove material off the neck to recess it in the body either.
hope that makes some sense. I have changed the fret board as the first set of frets were hand made and the glue didn't work out.. it became a mess.
